Currently, We are in process of upgrading existing Solr indexes from Solr 4.x
to Solr 6.2.1. In order to upgrade existing indexes we are planning to use
IndexUpgrader class in sequential manner from Solr 4.x to Solr 5.x and Solr 5.x
to Solr 6.2.1.

Maybe you can vote for https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-6092, so
add a patch for it :)

Hi,
I found that for the "index" folder that is located under
\solr\data, sometimes, the index file will become something like
"index.20161230155246397".
What could be the reasons behind it?
I encountered this in Solr 5.4.0

I am trying to find good fitting settings for TREC (disk 4 and 5) collections
in Solr. Specially I am interested in the configuration of the fields in
schema.xml (which stemmer, tokenizer, stop words, etc).

What about requesting all of them in a single request and decide on the client
side of things which one to actually use?
