So I wanted to write in again (see way below for original mail). I have been having a problem with screen terminals freezing up on me and no way to get them moving again. Ctl q, ctl a q etc does not work.At this time a new screen version is not an option. The most reliable solution I hav

So here is an update to my terminal hanging curious problems. When I look at screen processes on a system I will see usually one that comes out in upper case letters (ie: SCREEN) and other in lowercase. Often a lower case process (I guess not the main SCREEN session) will remain after disconnectin

Thanks for the link. The Ctl sequences do not seem to be an issue, I have tried several and they seem fine (but not for the freeze problem). I do notice that sending SIGHUP to screen does fix it (at least the terminal, but maybe not the process that was writing to the terminal), though I have als

Well, so much for that idea. I am still getting the hangs, despite logging into a shell and then running screen (instead of using ssh -t), and there is still no output to the terminal or any kind of message being displayed that I can see regarding the hang. A screen terminal will just randomly h

Nope, there is no output to the screen session, but it's an interesting question because I do an "ssh -t . user@host screen" to get in to a remote host. Maybe I should try sshing in as a terminal and run screen myself and see if the problem persists and/or a message is displayed that perhaps
