Hi No sweath! Converting inside the program, as you describe it, is a good way to test things, and for a lot of purposes it does the job! There are however situations where a commandline tool like pgnscid is the best way - so of course it should work, and in my experience... it does! -- Med venli

Hi I just checked it, and "my" scid 4.2 pgnscid.exe from the standard windows install did the job without any problems - I also have a "standard" linux version but cannot check it just now. I remember that you were advised to try opening the pgn-file directly and/or usw the Tool - import method...

Hello SCID-friends, I convert pgn-files that I downloaded from internet and convert them with pgnscid. pgnscid returns "There were no warnings or errors", but SCID does not open the new file with the message "Error opening index file". What should I do? Thanks in advance and greetings! Bernhard
