Hi Joost! The Scid web site says that donations support the
development of Scid. The donate button appears not only on the page
about the tactics data base but on all main pages. If donations don't
go to the project, the web page should be changed to reflect that or
the donate button should be r
Hi Titus,
For what it is worth it: Based on the French paypal dialog, I sort of
expect your donation will be received and reacted upon by Pascal (see cc).
Pascal did a lot of work for Scid, but (temporarily?) has left the
project alone since quite some time now.
Anyway (and as far as I know),
Hi list! I just donated €20 to get access to the ScidTactics data base
as suggested on this page:

I will be offline for the next two weeks and would love to be able to
use the data base during that time. I don't know who's responsible

The first one contains about 600 annotated games with tactics flags, which
corresponds to the first 2000 games analysed of base ib_

Hi,
I uploaded about 100 positions with tactics flagged at
http://prolinux.free.fr/scid/download/unstable/tactics.zip
If someone is interested in checking errors and value of exercises. They
mainly seem fine to me.

Isn't it possible to still add it? It seems a waste of resources to miss such
tactics - are there any reasons for skipping it?

I commited in CVS the code for :
- tactics flagging (see annotation by engine). Only works for UCI engines.
- "find best move" menu command added under Play->training. It will go to
next flagged tactical position in game or base. As the solution is unique,
the correctness of the solution is checked

Hi,
There some good web sites with tactical exercises, for example
http://chess.emrald.net/ and http://chesstempo.com/ . I prefer the later
because the user interface is better and there is no clock pressure (in
standard mode). But I also prefer Scid's interface.
So I added an extra option in Anno
