channel, so
you can't have transparent arrows like Chessbase's.

Yes that is indeed very nice, and I'll probably disable the variations
box and use the arrows, which are more conveninet.
Still that doesn't answer my original concern, which is the behavior of
scid when the variaitons window is open.
