OK, I think for now I have everything working. I fixed the problems of
the engines crashing unexpectdly by changing the "DIrectory" setting
to ~/.scid
This seems to have fixed the problems.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi,
Thanks for your help. I now seem to be getting the error:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/scid$ ./scid
exec: 21: tkscid: not found
even though tkscid is in the right directory? Could this be a PATH
problem? As it is in the same directory I would assume it doesn't
matter?

I also forgot to mention that under Linux you have to setup engines manually
(on Windows I provide a standard setup). Be careful to check the UCI flag
only for UCI engines (Toga for example, but not Crafty).

Hi,
I think the problem partly arises because I'm not sure how to
completely remove scid from my system before doing a fresh install. I

Hi,
Could you try with Scid 3.6.22 (or RC of 3.6.23) and tell us which OS you
are using ?

Hi all,
I have just installed Scid, version 2.6.21. When doing a "make
install" I get an error about book*.bin not existing (which they
don't) so I uncommented the line and the program installed. However,
when I run scid I get a message box saying:
"Bases directory not found"
