The need for documentation and FAQ is indeed important. There is already
a tutorial at
http://scid.sourceforge.net/tutorial/index.html
and in Scid's help menu there is an "hint" one, which is close to a FAQ.
Maybe these could serve as a basis, and would avoid to start something
from scratch
