I temporarily solved the problem by downloading the "admin-free" Windows
version on a memory stick and running scidt on the database from there.
Curiously, scidt is included in this Windows version.

If you compiled Scid by yourself, there should be a scidt file in Scid
directory if you type "make scidt", as scidt is not compiled by default.
