to do UCI engine analysis. Pascal wrote all the UCI code, but cut a few corners.
The obvious problem is, the engine has no way to know if it's next move will
immediately lead

iPads are amazing. But please respect Scid's license, and do not include any
Scid code with an App
distributed through Apple.
The App Store EULA is incompatible with the GPL.

In a recent olympiad db i downloaded, they'd used the site name to store some
numeric data, and each site name was different.
So what i wanted to do is replace all the sites with something like "Istanbul",
(to allow the crosstable to work).
Anyway , this patch allows one to use "*" in the name ed

This is actually a small bug in Critter 1.4 with gaviota tablebases, which
affects Scid.
Richard Vida has told me it wil be fixed in the next version, but this line
added to
uci.tcl (or scid.gui) works around the issue.

polyglot binary (or source) and use it to make a book from the command line

Stockfish 191 was very bad. I just upgraded to 2.0.1 and it seems better

You can only "set
png_image_support 1" if you have TkImg installed.
Without TkImg the pieces must be base64 encoded gifs.
With TkImg, the pieces can also be base64 encode pngs,
which allow for better image quality.

routines to the tree feature.
In the gamelist, clicking on column title will sort database
, but unfortunately also resets filter at the same time.
