Hi,
Without having personal experience on this, I remember reading on
Rybka's site awhile ago some users reporting running Rybka on macs
through microwine, which essentially should be (I assume) a customized
version of wine tailored for Rybka. I remember seeing microwine on their
website as a dow
Hi,
atm SCID has two ways to train openings, one is through creating an
opening database and using Play->Training->Openings (which is what I
used before) but now that I used the mask feature I see that similar
things can be done through the mask feature. There is also the opening
editor, which im
Hi,
can you please let me know which is the file extension for mask files?
in OS X it won't save the mask files and I suspect/hope that it may be
fixed if I save as file.extension.
Cheers,

Apparently the setup board position became messy because of switching to
merida 2 piece style (merida 1 is also messy) but switching to other
sets makes it fine again.

Hi all,
I'd like to ask a couple of questions and I'd be thankful if someone who
knows the answer(s) could reply.
1) SCID auto-annotation: within the SCID auto-annotation feature is it
possible to have a comparison to a database and e.g. add notes where
deviations from games in the Database happe
Hi Israel,
This is my blog :) thank you very much for replying a question there!
I plan to upload part II within the following 10 days and part III will
come after that.
The general motivation behind the blog is to advertise free (as in

Hi all,
In the Tree window, text is not aligned and looks like this
http://www.flickr.com/photos/39885...@n05/3691253774/sizes/l/ . This
happens both in SCID 3.7.2 and 3.7.3 and trying a couple of fonts didn't
fix it. Do other mac users have a similar issue? I don't consider to be
of significance

Dear Alexander,
Thank you very much for your reply, my intention is passing to SCID the
blue diagram tabiyas from Dvoretsky's endgame manual in order to
practice endgames. When I have created them, I am happy to upload them
if there aren't any copyright issues.
According to my "Dvoretsky's Endga
Hello all and many congratulations for SCID, it is top notch software,
Under Play->Training->Tactics has some exercises. Is there any way for
the user to create his own chess problems and add them there?
Apologies if I am asking something obvious or if this has been answered
before but my searche
Hi all,
I was wondering if it is possible for a SCID user to create his own
training exercises, like endgame, tactics & positional exercises. I
can't find something through the interface which could do that but are
there any other means?
