AFAIK, it is possible only in the first move, where making the move, going
backwards and inserting the comment, places it before the that first move.

Hi, Thomas,
The closest I got to what you want is create a new variation just before
the final move of the game (Ctrl-A?), repeat the last move in the new
variation and go on from there.

Hi all,
The IM commentating the games on site at Bilbao Masters is using Scid, as
you can see in the picture. I thought it was nice and I don't think it is
common at all.

Hi, Ben,
please remove some of the final / in the links. It causes them not to
display properly. In my case, http://www.nowinchess.com/games.php,
without the final /.
Thanks!

I tried the easiest one (removing the -fno-rtti) and it worked.

Hi all,
is it necessary Tcl/Tk 8.6 to compile the Scid version from the Git repository?
This is the error I'm getting when trying to compile on Linux Mint 9
(based on Ubuntu 10.04):
g++ -O3 -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions -std=c++0x -pthread -Wall
-I/usr/include/tcl8.5 -o src/sortcache.o -c src/sortc

Thanks, Alexander and Joost,
opening them with sc_remote works for me. I'm using a netbook right
now and I'm not sure which Scid version I'm using, but definitely not
last CVS. Anyway, my "problem" is solved.

Hi, all,
I often open game files by double clicking on them from Nautilus and
would like the system not to launch a second Scid instance when there
is already one. Is that possible?
TIA

Hi, all,
I am trying to normalize a Scid database. It contains many local
players who don't appear on FIDE's rating list and many different
spellings for the names (one or two surnames, capital letters, the
name before the surname, etc), because different people have
transcribed the games.
What I

Hi, all,
applying a second filter to restrict a previous search doesn't seem to
work for me in Linux with current CVS version.
I refer to the 'Add (restrict filter)' option that appears in all the
search dialogs and I have tested it with a Repertoire search after a

Hi all,
when exporting games to HTML/JS, the line with the names of the
players gets truncated and only white's surname appears.
Commenting line 753 in misc.tcl (set l [lindex $this_players 0]) seems
to solve it, but I'm not sure about possible side effects of doing it.

Hi all,
Seeing the changes that are being made to Scid these days, I was
wondering what people do:
* download the latest version from the CVS repository and compile it
replacing the previous one
or
* keep the version provided by your distribution (4.2.1 in Mint 9 for
me) and a separate "testing
Hi all,
the distribution I use in my netbook only offers Scid 3.6, so I
compiled it from the source. But the binary and all the other files
stay in /home/user/chess/scid, the place where I unpacked it, which
doesn't seem to me a proper location for the program. I'd prefer to
have it where it gets
