Hi Adam,
Thanks for reaching out.
Can you please clarify? I checked the scid_src_5.0.2.zip in the download page

Thanks,
I pushed a patch that should fix the bug.
Let me mention that in the current 4.8 the evaluation bar has been improved.
It allows to easily add new engines:

Yes, in previous versions the changes to a PGN file were stored in RAM and it
was necessary to r
Hello,
in SCID it is not possible to overwrite a game in a PGN file and consequently
it is not possible to annotate it directly.
It must first be imported into a new database or into the ClipBase.
However, thanks for reporting the bug, it should show a more understandable
error message.

Hi Andreas,
thanks for expressing the intention of supporting the project.
I agree that resources are necessary to make a truly professional
Hi Ed,
even though we have never talked to each other, I know your chess projects,
which are useful and interesting.
I admit I don't know anything about the Polyglot format, but it seems to me a
not too complicated and useful modification.
You are proposing to change this code:

Hi everyone,
just a few clarifications:
- starting from version 4.7.0 PGN files are opened in "append" mode: it is not
possible to modify existing games, but it is possible to add new games (f

Sorry, I never used and I don't know the code of the SCID's correspondence
module. I too though
Yes and No: you don't need the tklib but the tcl/tk library is not
automatically installed by SCID.
When configuring SCID, a tcl library must be found, automatically or manually
(https://github.com/benini/scid/blob/github/azure-pipelines.yml#L194 ).

Hi Greg,
thanks for the detailed analysis.
My guess is it doesn't depend on the engine but it is triggered when the
analyzed move is added to the current (probably complex) game.
It is pretty easy to debug SCID on Linux, something like:
sudo apt-get install build-essential gdb cmake tcl-dev

Hi,
