Here's the thing: there is a lot of work going into developing and maintaining
Scid and very few people to do the work. I doubt anyone minds feature requests,
but when those requests are presented as a kind of moral imperative it comes

That's the same error with `make install` on the cvs repo I reported
yesterday. The bases folder and its contents are non-existent in the
cvs download.

There is no "bases" folder in the scid source directory, but there
were no errors from make, either. Commenting out the corresponding
line in the Makefile allows make install to finish without any other
error.
