Hi,
I don't know what's happening but scid looks absolutely horrible on my
machine. Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/3zejx.png
Specs:
Scid v4.2.2
Gentoo Linux 3.0.3
Tcl/Tk 8.5.9
Does anyone have any clue how to fix this?
Thank you,
Bogdan

Hi,
I just recently gave up gentoo and installed source mage linux, and
then scid, with tcl and tk versions 8.5.6
Some issues I found
a) fonts are really ugly and I can't select any truetype fonts -- maybe
I'm missing some dependency?
b) In the 'scid: header search' when I click on the 'choose

I'm using gentoo linux. Sorry about not mentioning it in the first
message. gentoo + openbox + dual head

Hello
I've tested scid-3.7 beta3. When I hover with the mouse cursor over the
scid window (while it's out of focus in the background), it steals the
focus and does not return it to whatever window had it before. I think
this is a bug..

Rybka3 32-bit works fine with wine.
I have played aorund a bit with tcl/tk and got this little gui for
downloading ches games from chesscenter.com. I've

Hi everyone!
I am having a bit of a problem with scid... when trying to convert/open
a 2gb pgn file:
- when I use pgnscid in a terminal, it starts converting but fails
at some point, saying "bus error"
- when I try to open that file in scid, it shows the progress bar
and then it crashes
Hello,
I haven't quoted everything discussed but I have read it all.
I'm playing chess for almost 14 years now, and been using chess software
starting with the earliest fritz and chessbase version; anyway, my point is,
you only need a database for two things: opening preparation and tournament
Hello everybody!
Regarding the discussion about scid having a default db included, maybe
a script/program to download games from the internet could be bundled
up. For example I have my own little C program using libcurl which can
get all TWIC issues from chesscenter.com, ending up with over 700
