Given how configurable Scid is and the breadth of its feature set, I suppose
there's no particular setup/layout that works for everyone.
I always wonder how others are using Scid and if there's anything I can learn
from them.

Since 2017, my favourite has been Chess PGN Master

Though not as powerful and rich as Scid on desktop, it's got a stable and easy
to use UI with a very reasonable feature set. And it always comes with the
latest Stockfish bundled along with it (ie currently 16.1)
