Go to http://ficsgames.com/, put in a range of the ranks you want, and hit
"Download". This will generate a pgn of the last 500 games played by players
of those ranks, within the time range you specify. Those games should be *
full* of the kinds of mistakes you are looking for ;)

Hi,
Rounding up a re-implementation of the annotation feature, I am looking
for test material.
Does anyone have a collection of games available as played by weaker
(junior?) players?
I am looking for some games with all kinds of blunders and missed
opportunities (longer/shorter mates etc), suc

Hi Pascal
Thanks for the warning - actually the version is 4.2.2 - I think that
subversion was launched specifically to remedy those issues!

Beware of version 4.2 especially under Windows. It may be unstable

Hi
No sweath! Converting inside the program, as you describe it, is a good
way to test things, and for a lot of purposes it does the job! There are
however situations where a commandline tool like pgnscid is the best way -
so of course it should work, and in my experience... it does!

Hi
Just convert the pgn file within the program and don't use pgnscid.
Works like a charm.
To do that, open scid, create a new database with a name you like,
open the .pgn file and move the files within the "Database switcher"
(Shortcut ctrl + D)

Hi
I just checked it, and "my" scid 4.2 pgnscid.exe from the standard windows
install did the job without any problems - I also have a "standard" linux
version but cannot check it just now.
I remember that you were advised to try opening the pgn-file directly
and/or usw the Tool - import method...
