Hi,
atm SCID has two ways to train openings, one is through creating an
opening database and using Play->Training->Openings (which is what I
used before) but now that I used the mask feature I see that similar
things can be done through the mask feature. There is also the opening
editor, which im
I have to either re-focus or click on the view window

Hi,
can you please let me know which is the file extension for mask files?
in OS X it won't save the mask files and I suspect/hope that it may be
fixed if I save as file.extension.

Ok. Looks like a bug in tkimg on Mac. :( Seems strange to me that this
only happens in the position setup, or does it occur on other

Hello.
After having a break for some months I have found that
scid 3.6.1 on 8.04 ubuntu can not repeatedly move pieces
when I press on <-,-> keys at viewing a game.
A piece makes one move at the first pressing, but not the following.
Trying to get it back working I upgrade both the ubuntu
and sc

Apparently the setup board position became messy because of switching to
merida 2 piece style (merida 1 is also messy) but switching to other
sets makes it fine again.

I didn't open a mask in advance, how do I make a mask/open one?
It is good to hear that guides are helpful, this was my intention when I
thought about writing guides! I will upload part II, I have written most
of it already but I have some workload for the following 4-5 days, after
it I will finis

Not that I know of. However, this sounds an interesting idea

Hi,
I commited the code for Scid 4.0 in CVS. Main recent change is of course the
switch to a new base format : any base opened with Scid 4.0 will be
converted to the new format (a warning is presented first to the user). Old
base is overwritten, so in case, make backups.

Hi all,
I'd like to ask a couple of questions and I'd be thankful if someone who
knows the answer(s) could reply.
1) SCID auto-annotation: within the SCID auto-annotation feature is it
possible to have a comparison to a database and e.g. add notes where
deviations from games in the Database happe
