I do too, but for organizations. That is, scid-chess.org should
eventually replace scid.sourceforge.org.
If it's an informational resource, outside the official project, then
.info seems more precise.
I am all in favor for leaving Scid's site outside of SF.

I like .org domain. Don't know why, but it sounds better than others.

I'm good with something like scid-chess.info too... depends on
1) how broad we want the title to be and
2) what Pascal sees as working best with his plans!
scid-chess.info and .org
scidwiki.info and .org
scid-wiki.info and .org
scid-docs.info and .org
etc
are available.

What would prevent keyboard move entry? I can't enter any moves via
the keyboard... when I try, nothing happens at all!

So pmwiki it is !
If the domain name is accessible, I would try to get something like
scid-chess.info
scid-chess.org
scid.chess
(Too bad there is no .chess !)
My criteria would be to tell that it's chess related and it's not a
commerce. And you could add a subdomain :

Well, as for the HTML generation part, it's quite easy :
1. Load a game
2. Try to create an HTML version with
Tools \ Export Current Game \ To HTML file or \ To HTML and JavaScript file
3. Save it somewhere on your drive
4. See what it creates with an editor
5. Modify anything you can to
I definitely prefer the lesser administrative headaches with pmWiki
compared to MediaWiki, though I've used both. I've found it pretty
simply to move whole pmwiki installations (I have a couple of
wikifarms at the university I work for).
I've used MoinMoin but since I have negligible Python skills
Good !
1. I personnaly like pmwiki. It's simple, fast, and may be enough
for the little wiki we would like to build. I would certainly
consider it, since all resides on flat files :

I'd be happy to help with this-- I've got a server with extra
bandwidth and would kick in a domain name too... scidwiki.com perhaps?
The main questions for me would be if there is one wiki engine that is
better than the others. I can administer/maintain it and have used a

So here I am.
Where do I start?
Please give me the details.

1. There are free solutions, for instance
on-wiki.net
but they rely on ads and that might not be the best solution. But it's a start.
2. If it's not too much of a hasstle, and not too much bandwidth, I
could try to use my free db on my site. I am not sure about the tools
to use.
I will think

So anybody for setting up a wiki ?
I tried to set at Sourceforge and it is not the best solution :
- not nice
- very slow
- admin burden.

In reverse order of importance :
1. A new CSS for the site is badly needed, but the website is
Pascal's business and he grew fond of the way it actually looks.
2. But having a beautiful interface is a necessity : I think Pascal
already asked for new sleeker designs of buttons.

A wiki would make an excellent complement to the help file. Here is a
nice example :
http://wiki.tcl.tk/
It would alleviate the burden of writing everything to a tcl file. It
can build FAQ, user cases, tutorials, tricks, resources, etc. In
fact, all the site can be maintained with a wiki. If
Greetings,
As a web designer I might give a hand if needed for the development of
Scid:
- interface (buttons, ...)
- html rendering part of Scid
- development of the web site
Let me know if interested.
