Is there a way to convert Fritz/CB opening books for use with Scid?
there are quite a number of interesting, tuned opening books at places
like: Sedat's Download page: http://www.sedatchess.com/download.html
but they are in .ctg/.ctb/.cto format...

Hello Pascal,
I am sorry but I cannot follow you. The use case I described is basic to
annotate a game or keep own opening analysis up to date. It is also very
natural to store the own analysis not in a growing reference database with
more than 1.000.000 games, but in a separat

Don't know.

Really ?
Pascal, you're oftentimes too good to be true !

Hi,
I just recently gave up gentoo and installed source mage linux, and
then scid, with tcl and tk versions 8.5.6
Some issues I found
a) fonts are really ugly and I can't select any truetype fonts -- maybe
I'm missing some dependency?
b) In the 'scid: header search' when I click on the 'choose

I concur on both counts.
Keeping the working state as last time it was opened is a common
functionality in editors.

I have the following usability issues with scid:
I am used to have a small database containing games with my own analysis. To
update one of these games I open it, search for interesting positions, look
for (new) games in my large reference database with this position, replay
them and then update m
Using Tree window works, but it is a workaround. The ability to ask
for a position search in another base (ref base) should increase the
usability of Scid.
I will look at it.
