Tend to agree, but this focus on the (technical) solution is not what it
is about, maybe.
I think $Revision$ renders a file revision like "1.47," which is not
very helpful. It is the (most recent!) {tree} tag that we would need; as
far as I know there is no explicit keyword for this.
Major thing
OMG :-(
Cheers,

Thanks !
I think we have a new tip now : you want me to write it ?

Till now it was that way, as only new options were included, that is the
options file was enlarged. Technically.
As far as I know only one "break" in this tradition t
I am quite happy, then !
Thank you for the explanation, Alex !

That is the case only when the config file is backward compatible.
Will it always be the case ?

As final as 3.6.26, 3.6.25, 3.6.24.
Though note that yestereve 3.7.1 followed on foot as a bug in Windows
was discovered...

This should be aboslutely possible. Especially in this case.
However, it is that way

Scid 3.7.1 is the latest release. No plan to release another version any
time soon unless some bug is discovered.

Hi,
Sorry that I did not get too much response to my thoughts below.
Disappointing indeed...
Well then let me ask a question: How is it possible that a 3.7.1 was
'released for download' whereas the about box in the CVS still names it
3.7?

Joost.

Hi Pascal,
I see I need just a little bit more patience :-)
The switch - if defined, of course (!) - does exactly what it says: It
makes scid bail out after it has found maxCorrections. This saves time.
This means that it handles issue (2) from my previous posting.
So, indeed my proposal is in
My concerns come from having to redo all my settings : I customize the
chessboard, the pieces and at least three windows settings (archival
research, study and analysis, play or practice). I sure don't want to
do that by hand every time I install a new version. I'm quite sure I
am not alone in fe

Hi,
Is this the finale release?
If so I will try to get it into Debian Unstable.

Thanks for your patience and your explanation. What I see :
1. The define is useless. I was mislead by your default
#undef BAIL_OUT_AFTER_MAXCORRECTIONS
where
#define BAIL_OUT_AFTER_MAXCORRECTIONS
gives far better result, and I don't see much drawbacks using this one (or
did I miss something ?)
I just received a report that Mac binaries don't work on Mac OS X
10.4. I have to install 10.4 and download Xcode on one machine in
order to fix that, so I think in a couple of days I'll have a 10.4
compatible binary ready to download.
Sorry for the delay,

Hi there,
Mac Binaries for 3.7.1 are available:
http://cachivaches.chauca.net/scid/
I also took the liberty of publishing Scid in the top Mac software
directories. If I have some time, I'll try to contact some chess
bloggers to let them know that Scid is alive and kicking, it wouldn't

Hi, thanks for the amazingly quick change. I downloaded the 3.7.1 scid
installer (I normally use the no setup zip but I couldn't find it). I can
now export to pgn thanks.
