While exporting to PGN, there are various options available, and many users
are not aware of the differences between the various options. Hence it would
be preferable to make the strict export format automatically the default
option, and on selecting a button: Change options, only then the

configure/make ... again !?

Not recognising ep is definitely a bug. Because, if
