Hi,
My fault, I forgot to check to check the existence of a translation word.
Phalanx (the one coming with Scid) is required for tactical game. So simply
declare the Phalanx engine within Scid (New engine, etc...).

Hello again,
I don't know if it's appropriate to put here a modified part of
help.tcl dealing with analysis window. After it follows the old part,
for comparison. The change should lie between lines 2353 and 2513, if
I am using the correct version of the file.
Here are the main changes :

I did suggest that too. I'll advance the tutorial this week-end.
Starting now,

Hi Pascal,
compliment, really good work!!
Another problem:
Phalanx crashes with "The analysis engine terminated without warning: it
probably crashed or had an internal error".
So I decided half year ago to remove Phalanx.
Now I get following error message using "Play, Tactical game":
can't read "

Just to animate things : when do we switch to Tcl/Tk 8.5 ?
No debate please, no explanation, just pick a choice :
[ ] Now, for next release (planned in a few months)
[ ] In 6 months
[ ] In one year
[ ] Never, Tk 8.4 is flashed in my Bios.
I choose first option. This would mean Scid 3.7 (huge qu

important thing. There're two main parts:

- An entire read through of the current o

Hi,

/citation:/
/New menu entry in Maintenance menu to repair corrupted bases (equivalent
to "scidt -N" in command line)
Trying to repair an already opened database causes crash of scid.
So its better to close scid and repair by command line or give warning
that database is already open.

Alex,
Just to be sure I won't get quoted and commented in a fragmented way :

Either you disagree with that or not. If not, we are agreeing and all
the other matters are simply irrelevant. If you don't, then I'll just
Pascal,
You and Alex are painting me in a corner and it's not a nice thing to do.
Give me admin rights and you won't hear any blabla anymore.
That way, I won't take your precious time over a thing you certainly
don't want to know nothing about.

Actually, Israel and I are plugging away on the "centgriscid" base. Lots of
games out there... To date, I have t

Alex,
Scid ain't a chess program : you don't play against Scid. It contains
a database, some chess programs and some other fancy tools. So what
is it ? I don't want to have to rewrite all the synonyms I invent for
that after finishing writing !
I don't want us to talk past each other here : I

Are they maintained at the moment at all? I admit that I
only took care about the online help. Pascal,
Hi!
In analysis window the multi-pv spinbox is grayed for xboard
engines and uci engines that do not allow for multi-pv.
However, once you pause the engine it is set to active and
stays active. (It does no harm to the engine as far as I can

Pascal, Alex,
I agree that the help and the tutorial are more important. In fact, I
think that once the tutorial is in place, there is no need to maintain
html help files. They come with Scid and newbies don't need them :
they need a << Scid for the impatient >>. What we would need is a
