The engine I use is UCI. (Rybka 2.3.2a).
The same is true for other UCI engines (Toga II for example).
They both behave differently under 3.6.24 than they do under 3.6.23 but I have
no idea why.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Hi,
Shane Hudson added me as admin at SF. So let's say bye to Scid2 at SF (I
will delete the project).
So I will be able to update CVS there, but some sections need work :

I tried to post screen shots to show the differences but that may not make it

Agreed. We should decide how we will treat things like ambiguous
player names. Also, my opinion is that the seven-tag roster plus the

The engine output is exactly the same as in previous Scid's versions. Only
the UI has changed.

Hello,
Just to separate the topics, I am posting here to promote the project of
building a free central repository of games. Hence the name, "centriscid",
which is the only prefix my word finder can give me to "scid" [1]. It is a

I just downloaded and compiled 3.6.24. The analysis window only shows the
current PV and not the previous PVs. Is there a way to show each PV as it is
calculated and scroll the PVs so the user can see how it changes over time?
Without that, I'm afraid I'll have to go back to .23 ...

Hello again,
The original idea sprung when writing a document I once called "Scid
for the Impatient". In this kind of tutorial, you introduce the
reader to the basic usage. Scid's on-line tutorial does that, but
with an almost random database [^tutorial].
So I think we need a sample database.

Regarding the discussion about scid having a default db included, maybe
a script/program to download games from the internet could be bundled
up. For example I have my own little C program using libcurl which can
get all TWIC issues from chesscenter.com, ending up with over 700

You were right :
uint gamesCount = 0;
should be a global var and commented out in mergeFile function, and simply
declared outside of this function:
uint gamesCount = 0;
