I am sorry that people have to use dirty workarounds for a problem that
is easy to solve, but you know that to be able to manage large PGN games
would mean to break the compatibility between Scid 3.6.1 and the
modified Scid (the new Scid could open both file formats, but not the

I used this freeware once.
Spit a big pgn file
and open small files from the one with memopad or a word processor
to modfy first and last parts of the files.
I used another utility to spilit a very big pgn once
but I cannot remember the on now.
