This is a two part question...
1. Does anyone know how to make redhat-config-packages look to the local

I'm having a closer look at redhat-config-packages to see if it may be
used instead of a custom PERL script to keep our systems up to date. Some
questions I've come up with:

Hi All,
I've got RH8.0 installed from the iso files on the hard drive. After installation,
when I run redhat-config-packages, it seeks psyche disc 1. I put the CD containing the
image file psyche-i386-disc1.iso into the cdrom, but the program acts as it is the
wrong cd, and keep asking

Hi there - I have copied all 3 disks of my RH install CD's to my hard
drive Now when using redhat-config-packages, I know you are supposed to
specify "-t" to do the path... Now what I am wondering - where exactly does
the path need to go to? The root of the cd? Right to the RPMS

Gosh! Now I found out how to teach redhat-config-packages to install
from an alternative RPM-tree:
1. copy the dir "RedHat" of all CDs to a target directory
2. copy the RPM-GPG-KEY (for authentification purpose)
3. copy the .discinfo file, so that redhat-config-packages knows how to

Dear Mr. Schwendt,
as your email was sent by a german public domain I could also write in
German. But let's keep it official for the other users:
I tried two things:
1) passing no arguments to redhat-config-packages. This envoces to start
the program in graphical mode on my display. It

Hi!
Since RedHat 8.0 a pretty cool tool is shipped within the distribution:
redhat-config-packages. It enables you to install/uninstall rpm-packages
in a very comfortable way.
Up to day I unfortunately was not able to tell the tool not to watch out
for packages on the CDROMs but to find the rpm
