the rhn servers are not that really fast all the time.
The rhn login just makes sure that you won't be
kicked out when the server traffic goes high.
try another site (just a suggestion) if you can't get
wget to use your rhn login. i've tried the wget
--http-user and --http-password params but c

Most RH iso's are available on the ftp server, so unless this is a special
image, you don't need to use RHN servers.
For RPMs, just use up2date instead, if you're using RHN. If you just

I use wget from the commandline for these tasks - never had a problem.

How about using an ordinary FTP client and go directly to the ftp server and
download. That should be quicker than going through the browser anyway.
