anonymous ftp problems

I installed RH 5.0 with anonymous ftp server. The problem is now that I'd only want to give access to REAL users but when I edit ftpaccess -file deleting the anonymous from class specification I can't login as a real user anymore. I have been using the hosts.deny and hosts.allow lists for restri
