you could use nat32 - at www.nat32.com - not as a proxy server, but as a
router. Its not free, but its pretty cheap.

This site has a proxy server that's free up to 3 users (2 concurrent
users). After that you need to pay. Never used it so I can't vouch for
it. Works w/ Win9x and NT/2k as the host OS. All traffic is TCP/IP
filtered, so linux should work o.k. with it.

I know a couple of folks who played with a free Proxy server available at
analogx (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/proxy.htm).

windows will do NAT (network Address translation) which is essentially IP
forwarding... its included in '98 and I think set up as internet sharing...
I've seen messages saying it works ok. No personal knowledge yet.

Sorry, but the last time I had to do something like that (a
previous job), someone had to pay about $250.00 (cdn) plus change
for a windows-based software kit (5-user/unlimited clients
version). It gave me more trouble than it was worth, in the long
run. I'm still shuddering at the memory.
