I was trying to install it last night. When it came to the part on
partition layout, I chose auto layout because I notied that solaris has
already taken the drive/partition I reserved for it and marked it
"solaris". I assume that the auto-layout will be restrained within that
partition.
Then when
Hi,
Solaris 2.6/7/8 should let you specify a new partition during the second
phase of installation (the OpenWindows GUI bit) and install to that, you
do not need the whole disk to install to. If you need help with the
install email me privately.

No, that's not correct. Not with Solaris 7 at least. I've got it running on
a system here that dual boots into Win98.

I'd say that's doable. just make sure that you have a linux boot disk on
hand so you can restore lilo (use mkbootdisk), because if anything goes
wrong then you'll need it :)

does it matter which os you install first? I have win95, nt server,
and linux working now, but will delete nt server, and replace it with
solaris 7. is this doable?

I can't quite remeber, but I think that solaris wants a whole disk to
itself. I wasn't able to get solaris to install with another operating
system on the disk, but that was a while ago, and I probably did
something wrong. Here's some suggestions:
Install Solaris on a disk of it's own. Solaris is
I need to triple boot win95, linux, and solaris. does anyone know how to
install solaris to the existing system? Any pitfalls that I need to be
aware of?
Thanks.

My system has Win98/ed2, Solaris 7, RH 6.1-
partitions:
1: WIn98 - 4mb
2: Solaris 7 about 4 mb
3: Linux boot about

Yes you can. It's called fsdext2 and it allows you to mount ext2
filesystems while in win95. However, you can't write to them, and since
win95 has no security stuff, anyone can read any file they want.

First I heard of this one. Last time the question was asked, the answer was
nope. Guess I better make that a yep :-)

This seems to be a question I would see a lot, but I've aggressively lurked for a
year or so now and searched around a bit, but I've found no mention... So I'm sorry
if this should be common knowledge:
Is there a way to view/access the files on my Linux partition while in win95? I
