In My stock RedHat system makemap doesn't support dbm type .I'm using hash and
it works great for me
from /etc/sendmail.cf
...
Kvirtuser hash /etc/virtusertable
...
from /etc/virtusertable
[EMAIL PROTECTED]fooinfo
The last step,
[root@localhost /etc]#makemap hash virtusertable < virtusertab

I recently uncommented the relevant virtusertable lines from my
sendmail.cf file. after restarting sendmail i got the following errors:
[root@ian /etc]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail start
Starting sendmail: sendmail 554 /etc/sendmail.cf: line 146: readcf: map
virtuser
: class dbm not availab
