Heck I don't know...I've never had a problem with SAMBA, but a coworker was
saying that it would be faster if you ran SMB

Samba ONLY implements NetBIOS over TCP/IP (I have a Samba book that
refers to this as "NBT".) NetBIOS itself needs some kind of a transport
to carry it over the wire. Samba, uses TCP/IP.
I believe that the Out-of-the-box configuration supplied with RedHat
will pretty much run without much
