Well.. char-major-4 is your local virtual terminals and char-major-180 is.. I don't know. I don't have those devices on my system :) Did you forget to compile virtual terminal support into your kernel? I'd check that and also check to see if you have those devices in /dev (man MAKEDEV if you need
