John, Officially it is called a supplemental disk. It contains PCMCIA and SCSI support. The files could also be find on the RedHat CD if you are using that. But it has to be copied to a disk if you want to install PCMCIA during installation. Or you may install PCMCIA afterwards. Hope

I remember that with the RH4.2 install it did ask you whether or not you needed PCMCIA support. I installed 5.0 too on my laptop and I don't remember if it asked or not (I assume it didk) but I did not have to do any extra configuring. If it does ask, then it within' the first few questions it a
