Have you tried this or is this simply the Nautilus proxy setting?

If you mean the Network Proxy under "preferences:///" under Nautilus,
that is turned onand it doesn't work for evolution, unfortunately.

Good news... I stuffed up before. It is not Galeon you have to set the
settings. It is Nautilus. Set the proxy in there and you should be
set.

b) is behind a http proxy like squid
c) has the summary feature properly downloading stuff?

Or how about someone who has a & b but c doe
I don't know about RH 8 but in 7.3 you needed to set the proxy settings
in Galeon. Maybe give this a shot.
