FR = Frame Relay. If you put the NIC(s) in Promiscuous mode, then the IP address is irrelevant as you are not using it for traffic and routing. Only if you want to send routable traffic then you may be in trouble, but you can always use static routes to get the job done within the box linux bo

What's a "FR"? Anyways, if you're sniffing, the ethernet interfaces don't need to be addressed on the same subnet as you're sniffing, just the same collision domain. Hence one interface can be on the subnet (so you can ssh/ftp whatever to it) and the other can be on a bogus network so your syst
