Try also the CYGWIN package. This has a windows DLL that gives you
a near complete *nix API that runs under Windows. You can use Borne Shell
and many of the *nix command line utilites, and acutally run a full 32bit
version of gcc all under Windows with this. (And perl too!).

No it's not Alan. WinLinux shuts down Windows before starting Linux using

If you can find it, take a look at cygwin from Cygnus.
Should give you a whole suite of useful *nix commands.
( I just tried the cygnus site for it, but couldn't connect)
