Have a linux box running RH 6.2, boot fine works fine but
booting into ' init 5 ' starts an x session but fails to start
any window managers. but boot into init 3 -- startx from the console works
fine.. where did i go wrong how do i fix this proble with init 5

Find an ftp mirror site for RedHat 6.0 and download october-gnome. The
gnome/X that comes with RH 6.0 is slightly broken. I used to use it and
although my problems weren't half as sever as yours, october-gnome has
fixed all of them (except the font problem which I fixed myself).

Hello I was wondering if there are known problems with X windows and
Redhat 6?
I installed Redhat 5.2 on the default X windows manager. IT was fine and I
upgraded to Redhat 6 it causes me problems like crashing and not
dismounting properly after I typed reboot or shutdown -r now

Hey, I'm using Redhat 5.1 and my Xwindows will not load properly, the first
stumble was my refresh rate was too high, I fixed that, then my mouse
wouldn't work (Operation not supported by device), fixed that, NOW my
Xwindows loads as far as a background and the mouse, I can move the mouse
around,
