This may not help but when I had a printer problem I unconnected and
reconnected the cable and it worked fine. Actually with most problems
that involve cables like ethernets, modems, and printers I try this first.
It never hurts to try.

I am not able to get my printer to print anymore. I get an error
message to the effect that the connection is refused because the daemon
