Sorry David - missed that post - my eyes tend to get drawn to the same

Hi Friends,
I want to port some packages to embedded Linux, To reduce the disk size I
want to strip the executables and libraries using " strip -s" option. Will
this affect the functioning of the system(especially if I strip libraries)
or in usability of packages.
Thanks in advance.

By default, the package expects to install its binaries in
/usr/local/bin,

Hi All,
I am porting an application written for HP-UX11.0 to Red Hat Linux 6.1.
Two pthread system calls, namely,
pthread_mutexattr_setpshared
pthread_condattr_setpshared
are being used in the application.
These two system calls are not present in Red Hat Linux 6.1

Hi !!
I am porting an application running on HP-UX11.0 to Red Hat Linux 6.1. The Source code for this
application is about 200KNCSS.
What all issues will I have to consider to make it a successful port?
Proprietary DCE threads are not being used in the application
