One way to do it is to place "export LANG=" into /etc/profile.
There's also a gdm/xdm/kdm for it somewhere; you might want to explore
that.

Hello,
I'm new to Linux. I have Linux 2.4.18-26.8.0 installed on my AMD-Athlon
PC and I'm trying to add French and Italian language to it. I'd mostly
like to switch to French as the default language.
Where should I look for the way to do it?
Thanks,

Hi everyone:
I am trying to get TeX to work with simplified Chinese characters.
The Chinese HOWTO on the web says that I should set the $TEXMF environment

I have installed RedHat 8.0 on a machine from scratch. I chose to only
install english as language, but now I want more! :)
I'd like to be able to use Swedish as well, but I don't know how to add
support for it.
Is there a 'recommended' way for this, or even better;

Hi,
I have seen that Red Hat Linux has support to languages other than English. So want to add my own language to the OS (my language is Sinhala, SriLankan's language).
I would like to know whether this is possible. Currently I am a computer science student at University of Moratuwa SriLan

There is a major operational paradigm shift between Emacs and TECO (as

Toby,
Sorry for the late reply,
I found mine at Barnes and Noble for 30 something $US.
I also have to recommend "Effective AWK Programming" from www.ssc.com.
Tim Robbins, ISBN 1-57831-000-8
It's mostly gawk, but describes the differences.
It filled in a lot of gaps the "Bible" left.

Hi everybody,
I would like to know which would be the best IDE (integrated
developement enviroment for c) that I could use to learn c programming
under the linux operating system. Well, if you have any other suggestions or
advices regarding this subject please let me know.
Thanks.
