I'm no ipchains expert, but are you sure you want -I...that's used to insert a rule. Most likely the problem is still with ipchains... But, also make sure you confirm that the ftp daemon is running using ps...try something like... ps ax | egrep -i ftp and you should get something back like 42

I've installed RedHat 7.2 and I don't seem to get FTP to work at all. I have the ftp-server package installed and the wu-ftpd file "disable = no" option. I also setup the hosts.allow file to except incoming connections and the hosts.deny file has nothing inside. I also run the ntsysv command to ma
