I dont know if it helps ,but you can try to restore
the desktop an panel.
Hold down CTRL and SHIFT when typing the passwd when u
log in. Check restore desktop. You will loose all your
icons except for the originals.

Running RedHat 7.3 with Sawfish Desktop Manager and
whenever I go to change appearance under the control
panel, I keep getting an error:
The applet encountered an error.
Has anyone ran into this problem or knows how to fix
this?
