Any modern cd-rom drive should be fine. When is the cd-rom drive
ejecting your data? As for lock-ups and system crashes, it could be
anything...what makes you think it's the cd-rom?

Currently, I have a Creative 52x CD-Rom!
Suddenly the "creative 52x CD-Rom" is ejecting all my CDs
(software or data).
I am facing regular lock ups ... system crashes! :-((
