I am in the process of evaluating different options for a groupware (at least
email ans calendaring/scheduling capabilities) solution for a company with
many domestic and international sites. So far we have seen demos
of MS Exchange (too "bloated" ... and too NT, in my opinion),

Use Staroffice, instead of Kpilot - it not only syncs (actually the
process is handled by the pilot hot-sync daemon anyway), but also allows you to
use all the data in a much better way ...
