my whatis command doesn't seem to functioning. everytime i execute it
(i.e., whatis ps), i get the following:
ps: nothing appropriate
the response is the same regardless of what i query. i've tried
updating the whatis database (as root) with
makewhatis -w
but i still get the "nothing appropr
forgive my ignorance on this point, but how the heck do you go about
downloading the source for 6.2? in the past, i've always just grabbed
linux-x.y.z.tar.gz, but what do i need to download in order to install
6.2?

I started playing with some MP3 applications today, and something really
weird is going on. When I play an MP3, there's no sound and it plays it
/very/ slowly. For example, it takes about 45 seconds to process
through the first 6 seconds of the song.

Hey all. I'm trying to set up my printcap to add a new printer, but RH's
printtool is confusing me. The printer is a HP Laserjet 2100TN. It connects
directly to the network with an IP address of 192.168.1.50. It doesn't show to
have a printer name, and there's no host computer associated with
