hi all!
i'm doing a prepaid internet access server and i want its database and
authentication separated from the authentication server for regular
clients to avoid mixed up passwd and shadow files.
any suggestion on how should i go about it?

there's one server that i wanna upgrade from one old version of linux to
6.2. will i lose all my passwd, shadow and most esp, radacct when i push
through with the upgrade.
