umount /mnt/cdrom shows
device is busy and has the entry in /etc/mtab file .
I have changed the dir to / .Surprisingly pwd shows me that dir is /

rpc.mountd is stopped
nfsd is stopped

I have a linux 6.2 that need to act as a NFS server.
NfS package is installed.The results of /etc/rc.d/init.d/nfs status are
BLANK
It doesn't show anything .
rpcinfo -p shows
portmapper,nlockmgr,status but nothing encouraging.
Any help 'd be apprecited.

The most imp point here is check out if ftp package is installed using
"rpm -q wu-ftpd" without quotes
This may work for you.

Boot it in single user mode & issue the command passwd root at bash prompt
retype it
reboot the system .

I had the same problem . please check if it is installed using
rpm -q inetd.conf
In my case it was not installed by default so I had to do it manually .

but no luck
