I get this error message trying to nfs mount a directory from behind
ipchains.
Jan 11 14:30:30 webserver rpc.mountd: refused mount request from
proxy.showmaster.com for /var/website (/var/website): illegal port 62677
Is there a way I can control which nfs client ports the nfs server will
accept
I have an ipchains firewall that is setup like this:
Public Internet

DMZ --> External Interface |
I for some reason installed redhat 7.0 and had no telnetd after the
installation. I just copied one from a 6.2 box but I really want to install
it from the correct source. What rpm does telnetd come from?

It'd be a good idea to turn portmapper off if U are not using nfs , and if
you are , setup a firewall so they cannot connect to portmapper which is a
service commonly attacked.

I have an internal dns at 172.16.0.1 that I can run and get my internal
records to resolve , forward and reverse, but I cannot get it to resolve
internet names even with topology and forwarders setup in named.conf. My
firewall isn't blocking dns as...
[root@proxy /etc]# nslookup www.infoseek.com
m4 /etc/sendmail.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf
> [root@pooh /etc]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail restart

In sendmail.cf on the line Privacyoptions , add noexpn and novrfy.
authwarnings should already be there.
U can also use define(`confPrivacy_FLAGS' , `authwarnings,noexpn,novrfy') in
your .mc file and
cd sendmail-configuration-directory
m4 ../m4/cf.m4 your-mc-file.mc > sendmail.cf
chmod g-w ./sen
