Using CUPS with Mozilla

2003-04-01 Thread Stephen Corey
I'm using RedHat 8.0 and have ran the redhat printer switch utility so I can use CUPS. When I go into mozilla, though, it's still using lpr for printing. What should I change it to for use with CUPS?? __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - File online

High latency tuning

2003-03-07 Thread Stephen Corey
I'm going to be running 2 satellite links with RH 7.3 on them. For the best performance, I'm told that you use the (bandwidth*latency) product as the values for tcp_rmem and tcpwmem values in the /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ directory. Do you use the bandwidth in bps, and latency in seconds? or milliseconds

FreeSWAN walkthrough?

2003-03-05 Thread Stephen Corey
Has anyone gotten FreeSWAN working on RH 7.3? I'm trying it now, and getting an error recompiling the kernel with the AES patch. I was wondering if anyone had a step-by-step on it that applied to 7.3.. __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - forms, cal

The users will be instructed to cut the modem on when they lose their connection to the Internet. After they've been using the modem

Kernel tuning for high latency satellite link??

2003-03-01 Thread Stephen Corey
Do I need to tune the RH 7.3 kernel for high latency connections? I’m installing a linux box on a satellite link (~800 ms roundtrip latency). Will the kernel *automatically* change anything based on latency, to hurt my throughput performance??Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - forms, calculators,

Modem dial-up when route goes down (failover)

2003-02-28 Thread Stephen Corey
I want to setup my RH 7.3 box so if my main route to the Internet goes down, the system will dial the Internet with a modem and use that as the primary route. How would I do that? I've heard someone say they've done that with using OSPF, but I don't have all the details. I basically need it to dial
