I looked into this. Here's the 'nobody' entry from /etc/passwd:
nobody:x:99:99:Nobod

I have the same problem, but my further questions are:
will installing the mew kernel with rpm -ivh kernel_new_zzz.rpm
(a) add the new kernel image to my boot loader (in this case GRUB)
(b) keep the entry for the old kernel in my boot loader
I don't know of any other way to be able to "retreat" i

Thanks for the reply. I checked; smbd is indeed running as root (according
to ps -ef). If I am reading the man page for mount and smbmount correctly,
the gid, fmask, dmask and iocharset options are preferences only (mostly for
security I think), and likely do not have an impact on t

Finally, the plugin is working for me. However, Netscape always opens a
separate window to spawn the plugin and display the PDF file. Is there a
way for me to change this behavior so that the PDF file displays in the
current window rather than spawning a new window?
